How he makes his music

  1. The writing

    Steven writes every song himself, usually starting from a poem, a heavy thought or an emotion. To him, poems are lyrics, and lyrics are the beat and the rhythm.

  2. The production direction

    He directs each track by typing cues into Suno’s lyric and style fields: tempo, instruments, mix texture and what each section should do. Suno reads them as instructions; they are not sung. From the On Lungs Alone lyric sheet:

  3. The voice

    He trained a voice model in Suno Studio by recording himself singing one of his favorite songs, the one he could sing longest and loudest, for the full recording time. Suno then generates the sung performance in his voice. Other songs use vocals generated by Suno.

  4. The release

    Released on xobehtedistuO Label through DistroKid, each with its own ISRC, and registered with ASCAP.
